Run-Level Settings
In this section, we outline the steps you should take to set the Linux run-level and execute requests. The
run-level for the ioPAC RTU controller is 3. Use the following command to enable or disable settings:
root@Moxa:/etc/rc.d/rc3.d# ls
S19nfs-common S25nfs-user-server S99showreadyled
S20snmpd S55ssh
S24pcmcia S99rmnologin
root@Moxa:/etc/rc.d/rc3.d#
#cd /etc/rc.d/init.d
Edit a shell script to execute /home/tcps2-release and save to tcps2 as follows:
#cd /etc/rc.d/rc3.d
#ln –s /etc/rc.d/init.d/tcps2 S60tcps2
SxxRUNFILE stands for
S: start the run file while Linux boots up.
xx: a number between 00-99. Smaller numbers have a higher priority.
RUNFILE: the file name.
root@Moxa:/etc/rc.d/rc3.d# ls

KxxRUNFILE stands for
K: start the run file while linux shuts down or halts.
xx: a number between 00-99. Smaller numbers have a higher priority.
RUNFILE: the file name.
To remove the daemon, remove the run file from the /etc/rc.d/rc3.d directory by using the following
command:
#rm –f /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S60tcps2
NOTE
Level
rc3.d has a higher priority than rc.local, so rc3.d will execute before rc.local.
