WARNING
Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure
to follow the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, fi re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool’’ in the warnings refers to your
mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated
(cordless) power tool.
JIGSAW SAFETY WARNINGS
a) Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces,
when performing an operation where the cutting
accessory may contact hidden wiring. Cutting
accessory contacting a “live” wire may make exposed
metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the
operator an electric shock.
b) Wear a dust mask.
Additional safety instructions
a) Avoid running your saw at low speeds for extended
periods of time. Running at low speeds under constant
usage may cause your saw to become overheated. If
this occurs, cool your saw by running it without a load
at full speed.
INTENDED USE
a) Cutting all types of wood
b) Cutting plastic
c) Cutting drywall
d) Cutting metals
Do not use this product in any way other than those stated
for intended use.
RESIDUAL RISKS
The product has been designed with safety features and in
accordance with regulations but there are still risks which
cannot be completely avoided and the operator should be
aware of these:
– Contact with the cutting blade; gloves should be
worn.
– Damage to hearing; protection should be worn.
– Inhalation of dust and fibres; a face mask should
be worn.
– Damage to sight; eye protection should be worn.
RISK REDUCTION
It has been reported that vibrations from hand-held tools
may contribute to a condition called Raynaud’s Syndrome
in certain individuals. Symptoms may include tingling,
numbness and blanching of the fi ngers, usually apparent
upon exposure to cold environments.
Hereditary factors, exposure to cold and dampness, diet,
smoking and work practices are all thought to contribute to
the development of the these symptoms.
There are measures that can be taken by the operator to
possibly reduce the effects of vibration:
Keep your body warm in cold weather. When operating the
unit wear gloves to keep the hands and wrists warm. It is
reported that cold weather is a major factor contributing to
Raynaud’s Syndrome.
– After each period of operation, exercise to increase
blood circulation.
– Take frequent work breaks.
– Limit the amount of exposure per day.
If you experience any of the symptoms of this condition,
immediately discontinue use and see your doctor.
Injuries may be caused, or aggravated, by prolonged use of
a tool. When using any tool for prolonged periods, ensure
you take regular breaks.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING
The product should never be connected to a power supply
when you are assembling parts, making adjustments,
cleaning, performing maintenance, or when the product
is not in use. Disconnecting the product will prevent
accidental starting that could cause serious injury.
a) When servicing, use only original manufacturer’s
replacement parts, accessories and attachments.
Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause
product damage.
b) Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to various types of commercial
solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean
cloths to remove dirt, carbon dust, etc.
c) Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. They contain chemicals that can
damage, weaken or destroy plastic.
d) Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side
shields during power tool operation or when cleaning. If
operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
e)
Clean the product using a brush or a dust collection
system.
f) For greater safety and reliability, all repairs should be
performed by an authorised service centre.
g) All of the bearings in the product are lubricated with
a sufficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life
span of the product under normal operating conditions.
Therefore, no further lubrication is required.
