» Remove any sharp edges or pointed objects that might protrude from the substrate and that might damage the heating
conductor.
» Clear the concrete area of any coarse contaminants. Level out any unevenness.

» Prior to commencement of any screed work, agree with the screed contractor the number, layout and implementation of
the expansion joints.
Provide expansion joints in doorways as well as in areas where the screed plate has a severe offset.
Create dummy joints where fixed components are let into the screed, such as pipes, columns or supports.
These joints are designed to accommodate the screed shrinkage that is subject to the building materials. In larger screed areas
it cannot be avoided that the cold conductors are routed through expansion joints.
» For this, route the cold conductors in the vicinity of the joint through two pipes pushed concentrically into each other.
The inner pipe of this joint bridge has the play in the axial and radial direction and is therefore able to accommodate the
shrinkage and expansion processes of the screed surface.

Individual screed areas can be up to 40 m

 in size.
» When floating the screed ensure that the heating matt is completely encased in screed, i.e. so that gaps are prevented.
