Solutionswithmorethanonecircuitprovidetheutmostreliabilitythankstoredundancy,whilethosewithmorethan
onecompressoronacircuitprovidepartialloadswithidealefficiency,alsothankstoincreasedheatexchangesurfaces.
1.3.1 Compressors
OnlytopinternationalbrandScrollcompressorsareusedonLEWunits.Scrollcompressors,uptoapoweroutputof182
kWfo
rsinglecircuit,arethebestsolutionintermsofreliabilityandefficiency.Theyalsoprovidethelowestamountof
sound emissions. Process optimisation, along with a carefully selected intrinsic volumetric compression ratio (RVI),
clearly improves the isentropic compression performance and reduces energy losses. The use of a scroll compressor
allows low vis
cosity oils to be used. This, in comparison to higher viscosity oils, reduces thermal resistance at the
evaporator. It also increases the evaporation temperature by more than 1.5°C (EER increases by more than 5.5%)
comparedtoothersolutions.
Compressor motors are protec
ted against overheating, overloads and high delivery gas temperatures. They are
mounted on rubberantivibration mounts, complete with oil charge and inserted ina soundproof compartmentwith
soundabsorbing material. Also complete with automatic oil heater to prevent the oil from being diluted by the
refrigerantwhenthecompressorstops.
NOTE: Scroll compressors, like all airtight compressors, are classified as pressurised containers. The low pressure
section,referredtobythePSonthedataplate,complieswithPEDCE97/23.
1.3.2 Heat exchangers
Only brazed plate heat exchangers are used, made of austenitic stainless steel AISI 316, with AISI 316L connections.
These feat
urea reduced carbon content that favours brazing operations. Thebrazedplate heat exchangerrepresents
the stateoftheart in terms of thermal exchange efficiency and allows a strong reduction of the refrigerant load
comparedtostandardsolutions.Thehighlevelofturbulencegeneratedbyinternalplatecorrugation,alongwithplate
smoothness,makesit difficult for dirttoaccumulateorfor limescale to buildupon the con
densercircuit. These heat
exchangers also make it possible to use R410A fluid which, thanks to the highlevel thermal conductivity of its liquid
phaseandtoitsazeotropicbehaviour,enhancesthermalexc
hangeduringevaporation.Theperformancesareimproved
overothermethanederivativefluidsoftheHFCgroup.
