INSTALLATI 4 1 UNPACKING After unpacking immediately describe any dama delivering carrier or dealer Keep the shipping car a description and diagram of accessory equipment with the IC R9000L see UNPACKING on the ins cover 4 2 SELECTING LOCATION Select a location for the receiver with space for air circulation and access to the front and rear pan away from extreme heat cold vibrations and magnetic sources 4 3 ANTENNA Antennas play a very important role in receiver o If the antenna is poor your receiver cannot give best performance The IC R9000L requires at least 3 antennas for full 100 kHz 2000 MHz Select an antenna such a matched 50 antenna and feedline When you wis a long wire antenna for short wave bands use one a possible at least 10 m 32 8 ft 1000 2000 MHz ANTENNA 4 4 GROUNDING To prevent accidents involving electricity and interfere from a transceiver ground the receiver through the G terminal on the rear panel For best results connect a heavy gauge wire or strap cold water pipe or long earth sunk copper rod Make t distance between the GND terminal and ground as s as possible WARNING NEVER use a gas pipe or electr cal conduit pipe for grounding
