SCAN 2 VOICE SCAN CONTROL VSC FUNCTION vsc 3 SCAN RESUME CONDITION OFF A B oo Scanning restarts a few seconds after stopping whe not including audio or voice components is received Turn ON the VSC switch to activate the VSC func SWITCH OPERATION OFF Scanning does not resume while a s received Resumes approx 3 secon the signal disappears A Resumes scanning several second scanning stops Scanning stops for seconds even if the signal disappears IB Resumes scanning several second scanning stops Scanning resumes a seconds after the signal disappears oo Cancels scanning when a signal is rec BB B B The DELAY TIME control adjusts delay time seconds until 30 sec when the REC SPEECH turned ON 4 TAPE RECORDER CONTROL When a signal is received the IC R9000L controls running of a tape recorder through the remote jack the IC R9000L and the tape recorder You can r received signal even if you have left the receiver S for connection information 5 SCANNING WITH THE SPECTRUM SCOPE SCREEN Scanning can operate using the spectrum scope However the scope screen is automatically in the condition while scanning The HOLD con canceled when scanning stops Tech Talk from loom Q How does the IC R9000L Voice Scan Control differ from former VSCs A The IC R9000L detects audio components in receive signals differently The IC R9000L VSC detects both audio signal com ponents and a variation of the received audio tone Former VSCs detected only receive signals whether they included audio signal components or not Therefore older receivers equipped with former VSCs do not resume scanning when they receive a signal modulated with no variation of the audio signal Carrier waves with no audio signal or no variation of audio signals are always unwanted signals The IC R9000L however resumes scanning w receives unwanted signals such as those men above The VSC turns ON because the IC R VSC detects variation of the audio signal The VSC starts to sample the received signal f second when the scan stops If the received includes audio signals and the tone of the signals changes the scan stops on the frequen The new VSC system is therefore very use auto memory write scan or audio recording tape recorder during scanning
