Certain kinds of dust are classified as carcinogenic
such as oak and beech dust especially in conjunc-
tion with additives for wood conditioning (chro-
mate, wood preservative). Material containing
asbestos must only be treated by specialists.
- Where the use of a dust extraction device is
possible it shall be used.
- The work place must be well ventilated.
- The use of a dust mask of filter class P2 is
recommended.
Follow national requirements for the materials you
want to work with.

Turn-off carbon brushes:
If the brushes are
completely worn, the machine switches off automa-
tically.
Before plugging in, check to see that the
rated mains voltage and mains frequency,
as stated on the rating label, match with your
power supply.
7.1 Side handle installation
For safety reasons, always use the side
handle supplied.
8.1 Switching On and Off
To switch On
(continuous activation)
:
Push the
slide switch (3) forwards until it engages.
To switch Off:
Push the slide switch (3) to the rear
end.
In continuous operation, the machine
continues running if it is forced out of your
hands. Therefore, always hold the machine
with both hands using the handles provided,
stand in a safe position and concentrate.
8.2 Preselecting the speed
Use the setting wheel (4) to pre-select the max.
speed. See page 2 for recommended drilling
speeds.
8.3 Tool change with a geared chuck
Chucking the tool:
Insert the tool and use the chuck key to uniformly
clamp tight all 3 bores.
Removing the tool:
Open the geared chuck with the chuck key and
remove the tool.
8.4 Remove chuck
Open chuck completely. Put Allen key - through the
chuck - into the machine's spindle. Hold Allen key
firmly (e.g. in a vice).
Loosen chuck by lightly tapping on the fitted Allen
key with a rubber mallet and remove it.
