If you press the steam activator by accident while you iron, some steam will escape. To avoid
this, set the steam tank switch to ‘off’ to cut off the steam supply completely.
If the steam tank is empty or has not heated up yet, you hear a clicking sound inside the tank.
This phenomenon is caused by the opening of the steam valve and is perfectly harmless.

1 Set the iron switch to ‘on’ and the steam tank switch to ‘off’. (Fig. 4)
2 Press the steam activator until you no longer hear any steam escape from the
appliance (Fig. 9).
The steam tank is now depressurised.
3 Remove the mains plug from the wall socket.
4 Put the iron on the iron stand, set the steam control to MIN and let the appliance cool down
before you start to clean it.

Vertical steam ironing
Never direct the steam at people.
To steam iron hanging curtains and clothes (jackets, suits, coats), hold the iron in vertical
position (Fig. 10).
1 Press the steam activator.
Variable steam
The steam control is continuously adjustable and can be set to any position between MIN and MAX
(see chapter ‘Preparing for use’).
’Steam tank empty’ light (GC6360 only)
When the water in the steam tank runs out during use, the ‘steam tank empty’ light goes on.
1 Rell the steam tank with water (see chapter ‘Preparing for use’).
Steam-ready light (GC6360 only)
When the steam tank is ready for steam ironing, the steam-ready light goes on.
Steam boost (GC6360 only)
Never direct the steam at people.
The powerful steam boost helps to remove stubborn creases.
1 Set the temperature dial to a position between 3 and MAX.
2 Press the steam boost button (Fig. 11).
Note: Some water droplets may occasionally come out of the soleplate when you use the steam boost
function. To prevent this, always use the steam function before you use the steam boost function.
Cleaning and maintenance
Iron
Let the appliance cool down sufciently before you clean the iron.
Never immerse the iron in water nor rinse it under the tap.
