...............Failure to follow anyofWARNING is likelytoresultinsuchgrave consequences as death or serious injury.
CAUTION...............Failure to followany of CAUTIONmay result in grave consequences in some cases.
• Thefollowing safety symbols areusedthroughoutthis manual:
• After completinginstallation, test the unit to check forinstallation errors. Give the user adequate instructions concerning theuse
andcleaning of theunit according to the OperationManual.
Be sure to observe this instruction.Besure to establish an earthconnection. Never attempt.
WARNING
• Installation shouldbeleft to the dealeroranother professional.
Improper installationmay cause water leakage, electrical shock, or fire.
• Install the air conditioner according to the instructions giveninthis manual.
Incomplete installation may cause water leakage, electrical shock, or fire.
• Be sure to usethe suppliedorspecifiedinstallation parts.
Use of other parts ma ycause the unit to come to lose, water leakage, electricalshock, or fire.
• Installthe air conditioner on asolid base thatcan support theweight of theunit.
An inadequatebase or incomplete installation may cause injuryinthe event the unit falls offthe base.
• Electrical work should be carried out in accordance with the installation manual and thenational electricalwiring
rulesorcodeofpractice.
Insufficient capacity or incomplete electrical work may cause electricalshock or fire.
• Be sure to useadedicated powercircuit. Never use apower supply sharedbyanother appliance.
• For wiring, use acable length enough to coverthe entire distance with no connection.
Do not use an extensioncord. Do notput other loadsonthe powersupply, use adedicatedpowercircuit.
(Failuretodosomay cause abnormal heat, electric shock or fire.)
• Usethe specified ty pes of wires for electrical connections betweenthe indoor and outdoor units.
Firmly clamp the interconnectingwires so their terminals receive no external stresses. Incomplete connections or clamping may causetermi-
naloverheating or fire.
• After connectinginterconnecting andsupply wiringbesuretoshape the cablessothattheydonot putundueforce
on theelectrical coversorpanels.
Install covers over the wires. Incomplete cover installation may cause terminal overheating, electrical shock, or fire.
• If anyrefrigerant has leakedout duringthe installation work, ventilate theroom.
(The refrigerant produces atoxic gas if exposed to flames.)
• After all installation is complete, checktomakesurethat no refrigerant is leakingout.
(The refrigerant produces atoxic gas if exposed to flames.)
• Wheninstalling or relocating thesystem, be suretokeep therefrigerant circuit free from substances otherthan the
specified refrigerant(R410A),suchasair.
(Any presence of air or otherforeign substance in the refrigerant circuit causes an abnormalpressurerise or rupture, resulting in injury.)
• Duringpump-down,stopthe compressor before removingthe refrigerant piping.
If the compressor is still running and the stop valve is open duringpump-down, air will be sucked in when the refrigerant piping is removed,
causing abnormal pressure in thefreezer cycle which will lead to breakage and even injury.
• Duringinstallation, attach the refrigerantpiping securely beforerunningthe compressor.
If the compressor is not attached and the stop valve is open during pump-down, air will be sucked in when thecompressor is run, causing
abnormal pressure in the freezercycle which will lead to breakage and even injury.
• Be sure to establish an earth. Do notearth theunittoautilitypipe, arrester, ortelephone earth.
Incomplete earth may cause electrical shock, or fire. Ahigh surge curre nt from lightning or other sources may cause damage to the
air conditioner.
• Be sure to install an earth leakagebreaker.
Failure to install an earth leakage breakermay result in electric shocks, or fire.
CAUTION
• Do notinstall theair conditioner in aplace wherethere is dangerofexposure to inflammable gasleakage.
If the gas leaks and builds up around the unit, it may catch fire.
• Establish drainpipingaccordingtothe instructions of this manual.
Inadequate piping may cause flooding.
• Tighten the flarenut accordingtothe specified method such as with atorquewrench.
If the flarenut is tightenedtoo hard, the flare nutmay crack after along time andcause refrigerantleakage.
• Make sure to providefor adequate measures in ordertoprevent that the outdoor unit be usedasashelterbysmall
animals.
Small animals making contact with electrical parts can cause malfunctions, smoke or fire. Please instruct thecustomertokeep the area around
the unit clean.
