GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1) WORK AREA SAFETY
a)Keepworkareacleanandwelllit.
Clutteredordarkareasinviteaccidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmos-
pheres,suchasinthepresenceofammableliquids,
gasesor dust. Powertools create sparkswhich may
ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operat-
ing a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose
control.
2) ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a)Powertoolplugsmustmatchtheoutlet.
Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapterplugswithearthed(grounded)powertools.
Unmodiedplugsandmatchingoutletswillreducerisk
ofelectricshock.
b)Avoidbodycontactwithearthedorgroundedsurfac-
essuchaspipes,radiators,rangesandrefrigerators.
Thereisanincreasedriskofelectricshockifyourbody
is earthed or grounded.
c)Donotexposepowertoolstorainorwetconditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electricshock.
d)Donotabusethecord.Neverusethecordforcarry-
ing,pullingorunpluggingthepowertool.
Keepcordawayfromheat,oil,sharpedgesormoving
parts.Damagedor entangled cordsincreasethe risk
ofelectricshock.
e)Whenoperatingapowertooloutdoors,useanex-
tension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric
shock.
f)Ifoperatingapowertoolinadamplocationisuna-
voidable,useanearthleakagecircuitbreaker.

ofelectricshock.
3) PERSONAL SAFETY
a)Stayalert,watchwhatyouaredoingandusecom-
monsensewhenoperatingapowertool.Donotusea
powertoolwhileyouaretiredorundertheinuenceof
drugs,alcoholormedication.
A moment of inattention while operating power tools
mayresultinseriouspersonalinjury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear
eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust
mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing
protectionusedforappropriateconditionswillreduce
personalinjuries.
c)Preventunintentionalstarting.Ensuretheswitchis
inthe o-position beforeconnectingto power source
and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.

energisingpowertoolsthathavetheswitchoninvites
accidents.
d)Removeanyadjustingkeyorwrenchbeforeturning
thepowertoolon.Awrenchorakeyleftattachedtoa
rotatingpartofthepowertoolmayresultinpersonal
injury.
e)Donotoverreach.Keepproperfootingandbalance
at all times.This enables bettercontrol ofthe power
toolinunexpectedsituations.
f)Dress properly.Do not wearloose clothing orjew-
ellery.Keepyourhair,clothingandglovesawayfrom
movingparts.Looseclothes,jewelleryorlonghaircan
becaughtinmovingparts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of dust collection
canreducedust-relatedhazards.
4) POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a)Donotforcethepowertool.Usethecorrectpower
toolforyourapplication.Thecorrectpowertoolwilldo
thejobbetterandsaferattherateforwhichitwasde-
signed.
b)Donotusethepowertooliftheswitchdoesnotturn
itonando.Anypowertoolthatcannotbecontrolled
withtheswitchisdangerousandmustberepaired.
c)Disconnecttheplugfromthepower source and/or
thebatterypackfromthepowertoolbeforemakingany
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power
tools.Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreducetherisk
ofstartingthepowertoolaccidentally.
d)Storeidlepower tools out of thereachofchildren
anddonotallowpersonsunfamiliarwiththepowertool
ortheseinstructionstooperatethepowertool.
Powertoolsaredangerousinthehands ofuntrained
users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any
otherconditionthatmayaectthepowertool’sopera-
tion.Ifdamaged,havethepowertoolrepairedbefore
use.Manyaccidentsarecausedbypoorlymaintained
powertools.
f)Keepcuttingtoolssharpandclean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edgesarelesslikelytobindandareeasiertocontrol.
