Edge Duo is a modelling microphone by Antelope Audio, suited for the manufacturer’s real-time mic preamp modelling.
Combined with the already highly acclaimed Antelope Audio FPGA Vintage Compressors & EQs, this new modelling
microphone will comprise a true cutting-edge front end that will usher in a new era for modern recording.
Edge microphones feature dual edge-terminated capsules for a smooth/natural sound, reproducing the expressiveness
and character of expensive classic microphones. Antelope founder Igor Levin designed the ground-breaking, fully
discrete electronics. The hand-selected capsules are encased in a carefully crafted enclosure with contours and shape
designed for optimal sonic performance. Edge Duo is an exquisite large diaphragm microphone with excellent transient
response and capable of multiple polar patterns.
2. Safety Notes
Phantom power – ensure phantom power supply is 48V.
3. Connecting Edge Duo
Edge Duo comes with an Y-XLR cable. Each of the 3-pin XLR cable ends convey the signal from the Front & Back
membranes of the microphone.
In order to use the microphone with the Antelope Audio Mic Emulations, you need to connect both cables to
neighbouring mic preamps on your Antelope Audio Interface.
Phantom power is required on both channels (Red & White cables).
Edge Duo can be used in mono as a standard cardioid mic. However, using it as such, you won’t be able to use the
Antelope Audio FPGA Mic Modelling system.
