4. Conﬁguration

4.1 LAN Conﬁguration

To enter the Local Area Network conﬁguration, select the LAN menu item in the Conﬁgu-

ration section. Primary LAN is for the router’s ﬁrst Ethernet interface (ETH0), Secondar y LAN

is for the router’s second Ethernet interface (ETH1). Tertiary LAN is for the third Ethernet in-

terface if the router is conﬁgured as a 3-port Ethernet switch, or if the RS232-RS485-ETH

Expansion Port is installed (ETH2).

Item Description

DHCP Client Enables/disables the DHCP client function.

• disabled – The router does not allow automatic allocation IP ad-

dress from a DHCP server in L AN network.

• enabled – The router allows automatic allocation IP address from

a DHCP server in LAN network.

IP address Speciﬁes a ﬁxed set of IP addresses for the network interfaces ETH.

Subnet Mask Speciﬁes a Subnet Mask for the IP address.

Bridged Activates/deactivates the bridging function on the router.

• no – The bridging function is inactive (default).

• yes – The bridging function is active.

Media type Speciﬁes the type of duplex and speed used in the network.

• Auto-negation – The router automatically sets the best speed

and duplex mode of communication according to the network’s

possibilities.

• 100 Mbps Full Duplex – The router communicates at 100Mbps,

in the full duplex mode.

• 100 Mbps Half Duplex – The router communicates at 100Mbps,

in the half duplex mode.

• 10 Mbps Full Duplex – The router communicates at 10Mbps, in

the full duplex mode.

• 10 Mbps Half Duplex – The router communicates at 10Mbps, in

the half duplex mode.
