Dynamic Range Control
With this setting you can limit the dynamics (this means the
difference between the loudest and the quietest sounds). You can
therefore also play back a film with lower volume differences.
➠ Turn the volume down before changing this setting.
56 In the menu SETTINGS select the option AUDIO VIDEO
SETTINGS.

SHIFT With the output of Dolby Digital audio signals, the
volume of quiet sounds is raised and the volume of
loud sounds is reduced.

Speaker settings
You can connect a surround sound amplifier to the Player. In the speaker settings,
you can set the necessary parameters to do so.
➠ Please also read the notes in the operating instructions for your surround
system.
➠ Remove the disc from the Player before you start adjusting the speaker
settings.

56 In the menu SETTINGS select the option SPEAKER
SETTINGS.

AUDIO OUTPUT CAN BE SET ACCORDING TO THE CONNECTED
AMPLIFIER AND SPEAKER SYSTEMS.
(WHEN 5.1 CH OUTPUT TERMINAL IS NOT USED, IT IS NOT NECESSARY
TO SET IT.)

You will see a menu with the loudspeakers represented as
symbols (L: left speaker, R: right speaker, C: centre speaker, SW:
subwoofer, LS: left surround speaker, RS: right surround speaker)
and their listening position.

SET THE SPEAKER SIZE, DISTANCE FROM LISTENING POINT, AND THE SOUND
LEVEL TO EACH SPEAKERS. SELECT SPEAKER.
