OPERATION OF YOUR KETTLE
Use the kettle only with its included base.
1. To ll the kettle, remove it from the power
base and open the lid by pressing the lid
opening button, ll with the desired amount
of water, and then close the lid. Alternatively,
the kettle may be lled through the spout.
The water level should not exceed the
max marks or sit below the min level. Too
little water will cause the kettle to switch off
before the water has boiled.
The max capacity of the kettle is 1.7L.
Do not add water over the maximum
level, as it may spill out of the spout when
boiling. Ensure that the lid is rmly in place
before connecting the plug into a power outlet.
2. Position the kettle on the power base.
3. Connect the plug into a power outlet. Press
down the switch: the indicator in the switch
will light up. Then start boiling the water. The
kettle will switch off automatically once the
water has boiled.
4. Lift the kettle from the power base and then
pour the water.
5. The kettle will not boil again until the switch
is pressed again. The kettle may be stored
on the power base when not in use.
Ensure that the switch is free of
obstructions and the lid is rmly closed.
The kettle will not turn off if the switch is
constrained or if the lid is open.
Be careful when pouring the water from
your kettle as boiling water may cause
scalds. Do not open the lid while the water in
the kettle is hot.
BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
Should you accidentally let the kettle operate
without water, the boil-dry protection will
automatically switch off the power. If this occurs,
allow the kettle to cool down before lling with
cold water.
CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the appliance from the power
outlet before cleaning.
1. Never immerse the kettle, power cord
or power base in water and never allow
moisture to get in contact with these parts.
2. Wipe the outside of the body with a damp
cloth or cleaner. Never use a poisonous
cleaner.
3. Remember to clean the lter on a regular
basis. For easier cleaning, detach the lter
by pressing it down directly. Then replace it
after cleaning.
Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or
abrasive cleaners or brushes to clean
the outside of the kettle to prevent any gloss
loss.
REMOVAL OF MINERAL
DEPOSITS
Your kettle should be periodically descaled, as
the mineral deposits in tap water may form scale
on the bottom of the kettle and cause a less
efcient operation. You can use any commercially
available descaler. Follow the instructions on
the package of the descaler. Alternatively, you
may follow the instructions below and use white
vinegar.
1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar,
then add water to the amount so as to cover
the bottom of the kettle completely. Leave
the solution in the kettle overnight.
2. Discard the mixture in the kettle, ll the kettle
with clean water, boil and then discard the
water. Repeat several times until the smell of
vinegar has been ushed away. Any stains
remaining inside the spout can be removed
by rubbing it with a damp cloth.
