Stiebel Eltron DHB-E 13 SLi [12/44] Operating instructions
12
1.1 Equipment description
The instantaneous water heater DHB-E ... Si
electronic heats water as it flows through the
equipment. The hot-water outlet temperature
is infinitely adjustable between approx. 30 °C
and 60 °C via the temperature selector. From
a flow rate of approx. 3 l/m upwards, the
control regulates the correct heating output,
subject to the temperature selected and the
cold-water temperature.
1.2 Vital facts
Temperature selector
Turning the selector allows you to choose
the required temperature anywhere along
its scale.
If the draw-off valve is fully opened and
the temperature selector has been set to
maximum (temperature selector turned
fully clockwise), but the outlet temperatu
-
re fails to reach the required temperature,
there may be more water flowing through
the equipment than can be heated by the
internal heater cartridge (output limit 18,
21, 24 or 27 kW). In such cases, reduce
the flow rate at the draw-off valve accor
-
dingly.
There is a risk of scalding with outlet tem
-
peratures in excess of 43 °C.
1.3 Safety instruction
Water temperatures in excess of
60 °C can be reached when selec
-
ting the temperature at the draw-off valve.
Therefore keep small children away from
the draw-off valves.
Danger of scalding!

for users and contractors
1.4 Important information
If the water supply to the
DHB-E ... Si electronic has been
interrupted, e.g. because of a risk of frost,
or work on the water pipe, the following
measures must be taken prior to bringing
the appliance back into use:
1. Remove the fuses and/or trip the MCBs.
2. Open a draw-off valve downstream of
the equipment until all air has been pur-
ged from the cold water supply line and
the equipment.
3. Replace of switch on fuses again.
1.5 Hot water output
Cold water temperatures vary depending on
the time of year. The following maximum out
-
put volumes, or mixed water volumes, can be
achieved with these different cold water inlet
temperatures (see Table 1):
ϑ
1
= Cold water inlet temperature
ϑ
2
= Mixing water temperature
ϑ
3
= Output temperature.
Useful temperature:
– approx. 38 °C: For example, for showers,
hand basins, filling baths, etc.
– approx. 60 °C: For dishwashers and when
using thermostatic fittings.

* The values in this table relate to a supply
voltage of 400 V. The actual outlet volume is
subject to the available supply pressure and
mains voltage.
1.6 Recommended adjust-
ment, thermostatic valve
To safeguard the function of the thermo
-
static valve, set the DHB-E ... Si electronic
to
maximum temperature (turn the temperature
selector fully clockwise).
1.7
First actions to be taken
in the event of malfunction
Check the fuses.
Check the fittings and shower heads for
lime scale blockage or dirt accumulation.
See also ”6. Fault finding by the user”.
1.8 Maintenance and care
Maintenance work, such as for exam-
ple checking the electrical safety, may
only be carried out by a qualified installer.
A damp cloth is sufficient for care of the unit.
Do not use any abrasive or corrosive cleaning
agents.
1.9 Operating and installa-
tion instructions
Keep these instructions carefully and
pass them on to your successor in
the event of a change in ownership, in the
event of maintenance and possible repair
work they should be passed to the qualified
installer for his attention.
