Use
NOTE: Always use fresh water.
1. Place the machine on a at surface.
2. Press the button in the lead in order to open the kettle. Then
ll in the water. Please only ll up to the maximum (MAX)
mark. You can read the lling level on the water level indica-
tor of the kettle.
3. Close the lid until you hear it lock in place.
4. Place the kettle ush on the base.
5. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V,
50 Hz safety socket.
6. Switch on the kettle by pressing the switch. To control lamp
lights up.
7. After boiling has nished the kettle switches off automati-
cally, or you can push the switch upwards to interrupt or stop
the boiling process.
WARNING: Danger of scalding!
• When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
• During operation the housing becomes hot. Do not touch it
and allow the device to cool down before storing it away.
Switching off
• If you would like to turn the kettle off, push the switch
upwards and remove the plug from the socket.
• The control lamp goes off.
• Emptying the water container.
Mains Cable Take-up Device
The mains cable can be wound up on the base.
Cleaning
WARNING:
• Always turn the device off before cleaning it and remove
the mains plug. Wait until the device has cooled down.
• Never immerse the device or the base in water or other
liquids.
CAUTION:
• Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
• Rinse the water container out with clean water. Then dry it
off with a cloth.
• Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
Filter
There is a permanent lter in the spout. In order to clean the
lter, remove it from the movable frame.
• Pull the right-hand tab inside the kettle.
• Remove the lter.
• Rinse out the lter with running water. You can use a nylon
brush.
• Put the lter back in position: insert rst of all the axle into
the left-hand guide groove of the frame. Then press the lter
into the frame. It must be heard to click into place.
NOTE:
The lter is correctly inserted if it can be moved together with
the frame.
Decalcification
• The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the
hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is
used.
• If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably
needs to be decalcied.
• Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available
decalcication agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the
quantities stated in the instructions.
NOTE:
After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several times
(approximately 3-4 times) in order to remove any residues. Do
not consume this water.
Troubleshooting
• It is not possible to switch the machine on.
PossibleCause:
After being used without or with too little water the machine
has not cooled down sufciently.
Remedy:
Allow the machine to cool down for 15 min.
• The machine switches off before the water has boiled.
PossibleCause:
The heated base is coated with too much lime or the circuit
of the plug is overloaded.
Remedy:
Descale the machine as instructed.
Check the mains connection.
• The machine does not switch off.
PossibleCause:
The lid is not closed or the lter is not inserted.
Remedy:
Close the lid until it locks in place or re-insert the lter.
