1. INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTION
ECO10R, ECO10F, ECO10FS and ECOINTRO10F thermostats are mounted as the cover of a 1-component
mounting box or as a part of a multiple-component instrument panel.
2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Installation must only be carried out by an electrician with the appropriate qualications.
Read the installation instructions carefully before starting the installation work.
The instruction manual must be stored in a safe location and be available for future installation and
service.
The information provided in this manual in no way exempts the user of responsibility to follow all
applicable codes and safety standards.
3. BEFORE INSTALLATION
3.1. Check that all the parts and tools needed for the installation are available. This package contains a
thermostat, an adjusting knob, a lid, a covering plate, an additional connector for earthing wires, a sensor
cable (ECO10F, ECO10FS and ECOINTRO10F) and this installation instruction.
3.2. Check that heating load is equivalent to the thermostat power endurance.
3.3. Check the insulation resistance and circuit resistance of the heating load controlled by the thermostat.
4. INSTALLATION, pic 1, 2 and 4
4.1. Place the sensor cable in a dry protective tube between heating cables (ECO10F, ECO10FS and
ECOINTRO10F). NOTE! Make sure that there is not water in the protective tube.
4.2. Connect the earthing wires (PE) to the separate additional connector.
4.3. Connect the thermostat to the mains and load according to pictures 1 and 2 (spring connectors,
stripping length 9 mm). Connect the sensor cable to the sensor marked connector (ECO10F, ECO10FS and
ECOINTRO10F) and control of temperature reduction to T- marked connector. Any phase can be used to
control the temperature reduction. The conductors can be disconnected from the spring connectors by
twisting and pulling at the same time. In oor or ceiling heating installations a residual circuit breaker has
to be used according to the local installation regulations.
4.4. Install the thermostat into the mounting box with screws.
4.5. Install the thermostat lid, cover plate and adjustment knob. Cover the thermostat from potential
dust during construction work.
5. START-UP AND OPERATION, pic 3, 5 ... 7
5.1. Switch on the heating from the switch A (pic 3). The signal light B is green when the thermostat is
functioning and it turns red when the load is connected. After switching on the room thermostat (ECO10R)
it takes several hours until the thermostat is adapted to the current conditions and accurate functioning
begins.
5.2. (ECO10R) Check the temperature setting after 24 hours and calibrate the adjustment knob to match
the real temperature if needed (pic 5). Remove the temperature adjustment knob and shaft without
changing the temperature setting. Pull the knob out from the teething of the shaft. Put the shaft to the
original position and set the adjustment knob to the teething so that the knob indicates the real room
temperature. Set the desired temperature.
5.3. The xed temperature reduction (-4°C) of the thermostat aects straight to the temperature setting
of the oor (ECO10F, ECO10FS and ECOINTRO10F) or room (ECO10R). The reduction is activated by exter-
nal control voltage. Temperature reduction is not indicated by any signal light (pic 6).
