7 SCANS Scan types The transceiver has 3 types of scan functions which provide tremendous scanning versatility at the touch of a few switches PROGRAMMED SCAN Repeatedly scans between two scan edge frequen cies scan edge memory channels P1 and P2 Select the scan which matches your operating needs P The scan function can be used on the MAIN readout only You can operate a scan while operating on a frequency using both dualwatch and split function See p 35 for details Jump This scan operates in the VFO mode MEMORY SCAN Repeatedly scans all programmed memory chan I SELECT SELECT MEMORY SCAN Repeatedly scans select memory channels only SELECT This scan operates in the memory mode This scan operates in the memory mode Pre operation Presetting Program the memory channels before operating a scan as follows Squelch condition Before starting a scan open or close the squelch for the desired operation as described below SCAN STARTS i Program scan edge frequencies into scan edge memory channels P1 and P2 p 52 Program desired scan frequencies into 2 or more memory channels except scan edge memory chan nels Designate 2 or more memory chan nels as select memory channels with the SEL switch PROGRAMMED MEMORYSCANS ияии The scan continues until it is stopped SQUELCH manually and does OPEN not pause even if it detects signals Scan pauses on each channel when the scan resume is ON not applicable when OFF Scan stops when detecting a signal If you set scan resume to ON in the set SQUELCH mode the scan pauses for 10 sec when CLOSED detecting a signal then resumes When a signal disappears while scan is paused scan resumes 2 sec later Scan resume ON OFF You can select the scan to resume or cancel when detecting a signal in the H set mode Scan resume ON OFF must be set before operating a scan See p 44 for ON OFF setting and scan resume condition details 53 Scan speed Scan speed can be selected from 2 levels high or low in the H set mode See p 45 for details
