SRU3040_10_v2 06 07 2006 16 16 fagina 5 Setting the remote control This is only necessary if your device does not respond to the SRU 3040 If that is the case the SRU 3040 does not recognize ths brand and or model of your device and you need to program the remote control to do so The example below TV instn ts you how to do this You can repeat the same steps for other devices DVD player recorder VCR and set top box which you want to operate using the SRU 3040 You can set the remote control either manually or automatically If the brand of your device is listed in the brand code list in the Quick Start Guide you can also set the remote control by Easy brand scan For this see the Quick Start Guide Manually setting the remote control Example of TV 1 Turn on the TV manually or use the original remote control Tune in to channel 1 Look up the brand of your TV in the code list at the back of this manual One or more four figure codes are shown for each brand Note the first code Be core W ore sepcxaie tab s for TV DVD VCR and set top box On our webste wsw pMps corn urc you cm dreafy select your device typenurnber co find die right code Moke sure you use the codes from che correct table 3 Select TV keep the TV key pressed for 5 seconds anti I it Links twice and then remains lit 4 Then enter the code noted in step Z using the digit keys The TV key will now blink twice If the key Nnks once for an extended period the code has not been entered property or the wrong code has been entered Stall again from step Z 5 Point the SRU 3040 at the TV and check that it nssponds as it sho Jd If the TV responds to all of the key commands the SRU 3040 is r eady for use Do not forget to note yotr code If the device does not respond at all or not to all of the key commands start again from step 2 and try the next code from the list Automatically setting the remote control The remote control will now automatically sear ch for the i t code for your device 5
