4 CHAPTER 1 2 PRECAUTIONS FOR USE 2 PRECAUTIONS FOR USE 2 1 Using the Copier Properly To ensure that the copier is used at an optimum condition observe the following precautions Never place a heavy object weighing 5 kg 11 lbs or more on the copier or subject the copier to shocks Do no open any Doors or turn OFF the copier while the copier is making copies Insert the Power Plug all the way into the outlet The outlet should be visible clear of the copier or copier cabinet Do not bring any magnetized object near the copier Never use flammable sprays near the copier Do not place a vase or vessel containing water on the copier Use care not to drop paper clips staples or other small pieces of meta into the copier Do not attempt Io remove any Doors that arc secured Provide good ventilation when making a large number of copies continuously If the copier becomes inordinately hot or produces abnormal noise turn it OFF unplug it and then call your technical representative Locate tho Copier in a Well Ventilated Room A negligible amount of ozone is generated during norma operation of this copier However an unpleasant odor may be created in poorly ventilated rooms during extensive copy operations For a comfortable healthy and safe operating environment rt is recommended to maintain a well ventilated room 2 2 Handling the Consumables Observe the following precautions when handling tho consumables toner paper etc Store the paper toner and other consumables in a place free from direct sunlight and away from any heating apparatus Paper and toner are apt to be easily damaged by dampness To prevent absorption of moisture store paper which has been removed from its wrapper but not loaded into the Tray in a sealed plastic bag in a cool dark place Use the right toner The applicable copier model name is indicated on the Toner Bottle Keep consumables out at the reach of children If your hands become soiled with toner wash them with soap and water or plain water immediately
