Setting Description Factory Default
High/Medium/Normal/
Low
The priority sequence is High>Medium>Normal>Low. We
recommend setting SMV packets to high priority.

QoS Classification
There are two QoS classification settings depending on the specific model of the switch.
Type Models Supported
Type 1 EDS-400A series, EDS-505A/508A/510A/G509, EDS-P506A-4PoE/P510/P510A-8PoE,
EDS-600 series, IKS-G6524/G6824, ICS-G7000 series
Type 2 EDS-516A/518A, EDS-728/828, IKS-6726/6726-8PoE/6728
Type1
The Moxa switch supports inspection of layer 3 TOS and/or layer 2 CoS tag information to determine how to
classify traffic packets.
Queuing Mechanism
Setting Description Factory Default
Weight Fair The Moxa switch has 4 priority queues. In the weight fair
scheme, an 8, 4, 2, 1 weighting is applied to the four priorities.
This approach prevents the lower priority frames from being
starved of opportunity for transmission with only
a slight delay
to the higher priority frames.
Weight Fair
Strict In the Strict-priority scheme, all top-priority frames egress a
port until that priority’s queue is empty, and then the next
lower priority queue’s frames egress. This approach can cause
the lower priorities to be starved of opportunity for transmitting
any frames but ensures that all high priority frames will egress
the switch as soon as possible.
