PPPoE
The following procedure is for setting up PPPoE:
1. Connect the DA-681A-LX’s LAN port to an ADSL modem with a cross-over cable, HUB, or switch.
2. Log in to the DA-681A-LX as the root user.
3. Edit the file /etc/ppp/chap-secrets and add the following:
“username@hinet.net” * “password” *
# Secrets for authentication using CHAP
# client server secret IP addresses
# PPPOE example, if you want to use it, you need to unmark it and modify it
"username@hinet.net" * "password" *
username@hinet.net is the username obtained from the ISP to log in to the ISP account. password is the
corresponding password for the account.
4. Edit the file /etc/ppp/pap-secrets and add the following:
“username@hinet.net” * “password” *
# ATTENTION: The definitions here can allow users to login without a
# password if you don't use the login option of pppd! The mgetty Debian
