TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Wood burning cooker to t between furniture. The side external coverings are equipped with a natural aeration certies system and
act as an efcient reproof protection.
The frame of the cooker is made of STAINLESS STEEL. The air openings placed on both sides and rear side have to be kept always
unobstructed to ensure the natural air circulation into the appliance. This avoid the risks of overheating of the appliance and furniture
in-between it is installed.
ATTENTION danger of re: do not obstruct the air openings for the natural air circulation necessary to avoid overheating
of the appliance and furniture in-between it is installed. The same applies to the air openings on the base.
The cookers of La Nordica are suitable to cook on the grill and on the oven and to heat living spaces for some periods or to support an
insufcient centralized heating system. They are ideal for holiday apartments and weekend houses or as an auxiliary heating system
during the whole year. As fuel, wood logs is used. The appliance works as an intermittent operating appliance.
The hearth is totally sheathed with single cast iron and NORDIKER sheets and it is endowed with a pre-adjusted tertiary air for a
better combustion. Inside there is a thick at grate.
The hearth is equipped with a panoramic door with ceramic glass (resistant up to 700 °C) . This allows a wonderful view on the
burning ames. Furthermore, it is thus avoided the output of sparks and smoke.
Below the oven door there is an extractable wood drawer.
ACCESSORIES
POKER GLOVE
PADOVA SERIES SERIES
The heating of the environment is made by irradiation: through the panoramic glass and the external hot surfaces of the stove,
the heat is radiated into the environment.
The cooker is equipped with controls of primary and secondary air by which it is adjusted the combustion air.
1A – PRIMARY AIR CONTROL (Picture 6)
The control knob on the re door adjusts the automatic regulator of the primary air on the low part of the cooker, through the ash
drawer and the grate, towards the fuel. The primary air is necessary for the combustion process. The ash drawer must be regularly
emptied, so that the ash does not obstruct the primary air entry for the combustion. Through the primary air the re is also kept alive.
The primary air register has the task of automatically increasing or decreasing combustion. Dependent on the position chosen, the
thermostat will act on the valve which regulates the intake of air into the furnace. Turn it in a clockwise direction to make up the re
and in an anti-clockwise direction to reduce combustion. As this is an extremely precise device, it is advisable to turn it carefully
and never force the knob.
2A – SECONDARY AIR CONTROL (Picture 6)
On the hearth door there is the secondary air register. This register must be totally moved to the right in order to open the control,
e) If the product is installed on a wall made of ammable material, it is necessary to replace that part of the wall with a non-
ammable material layer, for instance ceramic, stone, glass or steel etc. The section of replacement wall has to stick out of the
product as indicated in Picture 4 - C.
The Product must always operate exclusively with the ash drawer inserted. The solid combustion residues (ash) must be collected in
a sealed, re resistant container. The Product must never be on in the presence of gaseous emissions or vapours (for example glue
for linoleum, petrol etc.). Never deposit ammable materials near the Product.
During combustion, thermal energy is released which leads to considerable heating of the surfaces, doors, handles,
controls, glass parts, the ue gas pipe and possibly the front part of the appliance. Avoid contact with these elements
unless using suitable protective clothing or accessories (heat resistant gloves, control devices).
Ensure children are aware of these dangers and keep them away from the furnace when it is on.
When using the wrong fuel or one which is too damp, due to deposits present in the ue, a ue re is possible.
IN A EMERGENCY
If there is a re in the ue connection :
a) Close the loading door and the ash drawer door
b) Close the comburent air registers
c) Use carbon dioxide ( CO
2
powder ) extinguishers to put out the re
d) Request the immediate intervention of the Fire Brigade
DO NOT PUT OUT THE FIRE WITH WATER.
When the ue stops burning, have it checked by a specialist to identify any cracks or permeable points.
