1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX/10BASE-T Port
A 1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX/10BASE-T port is a port that can automatically adjust between three different speed rates
and automatically determine whether to operate in MDI or MDIX crossover mode. In order to take advantage of the
1000BASE-T speed rate, the user needs to use CAT5e or higher cabling, which supports a maximum length of 100M. The
1000-BASE-T speed rate complies with IEEE 802.3ab. The Switch’s 1000BASE-T port uses all four pairs of the cable for
transmission. The following diagram shows how the twisted pair cables are connected for a 1000BASE-T port.

1000BASE-T
In addition to the cable types described above, 100BASE-TX/10-BASE-T connections can also use lower grade
cabling, such as 100-ohm Category 3, 4, and 5 cables for 10Mbps connections, and 100-ohm Category 5 cables
for 100Mbps connections, which can be run for a length of up to 100 Meters. The following table shows the
pinouts used by 100BASE-TX/10BASE-T.
Figure B-1 shows how the twisted pair cables are connected for a 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX straight-through and
crossover connection.
