OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL PART 2
THE USER SHOULD KEEP THIS DOCUMENT
1. INTRODUCTION
This instruction manual is split into two booklets: PART 1,
containing general information regarding our whole product
range; and PART 2, containing information speci c to the
motor-driven pump you have purchased. The two publica-
tions are complementary to each other, so make sure you
have both.
Comply with the instructions contained in them to get the
most out of your motor-driven pump and assure its proper
operation. If you need further information, get in touch with
your nearest authorized dealer.
If information in the two parts contradict each other, take
PART 2 containing the product’s speci c information as valid.
NO PART OF THESE ILLUSTRATIONS AND/OR TEXT MAY BE
REPRODUCED FOR ANY REASON.
The following symbols have been used in the compilation of
this instruction booklet to make the reader aware of what
can happen if instructions are not complied with:
WARNING!
Risk of damaging the pump or system
Risk of causing injury or damaging property

3. DESCRIPTION AND USE OF MOTOR-DRIVEN PUMP
3.1. DESCRIPTION
The code EVM is used to identify a wide range of vertical multi-
stage pumps with in-line ports. Sized for seven nominal ow
rates (3, 5, 10, 18, 32, 45, 64 m
3
/h), the EVM motor-driven
pumps come in various models with a different number of
stages to meet a wide variety of pressure requirements.
The code identifying the models is described in Chap. 12.4
together with the description of the rating plate.
3.2. USE FOR WHICH PUMPS ARE DESIGNED
These motor-driven pumps, with their sturdy construction,
assure long life and consistent performance if used accord-
ing to the instructions given in chap. 5.
They are used to handle clear and possibly moderately ag-
gressive liquids, even with quite high temperatures, and
other liquids compatible with the materials used (WRAS-type
EVM for drinking water).
3.3. USE FOR WHICH PUMPS ARE NOT DESIGNED
Pumps cannot be used to handle dirty water, water contain-
ing acids or bases and corrosive liquids in general, water
with temperatures higher than those mentioned in chap. 5,
saltwater.
They are not suitable for handling ammable and/or explo-
sive liquids either.
The motor-driven pumps must never be made to work with-
out liquid.
4. WRAS EVM MOTOR-DRIVEN PUMPS
The EVMW motor-driven pumps are WRAS approved.
Unlike standard EVM pumps, they feature materials speci c
for pumping drinking water.
Before using the motor-driven pumps, run them with clean
water at the nominal ow rate, as follows:
