LONG PERIODS OF STORAGE
If the machine is to be out of use for more than 30 days (models with petrol engine), drain the fuel from
the engine to prevent sticky deposits from forming in the fuel intake system or in vital parts of carburettor.
To avoid this procedure, it is possible to save fuel in storage up to 12 months by using an appropriate
fuel stabilizer. Add the such additive to the fuel in the tank or in the fuel container. Run the engine for a
while to let the stabilizer get into the fuel system. Important: if the engine is fed with petrol containing
alcohol, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until there is no fuel left.
TRANSPORTING THE MACHINE
If the tiller has to be transported on a lorry or a trailer, fasten it to the vehicle using ropes or cables.
IMPLEMENTS
CAUTION: Before fitting the tines assembly, ratchet hubs or wheel extensions to the tiller shaft (fig. 10),
check that the shaft and the implement to be fitted are perfectly clean. After fitting the implement on the
shaft, tighten the fixing screws carefully. Tillage depth can be regulated by lowering or raising the central
shoe plate. The pointed end of the plate should be facing forward when working in hard, compact soils or
backward when the soil is looser (fig. 8). Remove the side discs.
PLOUGHS
The ploughs manufactured specifically for the tiller have been carefully designed to obtain good
ploughing without tiring the operator excessively. Two types of plough are available: single furrow and
turn-wrest at 180°. The latter is particularly advisable in jobs requiring work in both directions, such as
earthing-up along lines of vegetables, in vineyards or orchards. The depth of the furrow obtained may
