4.3 Charger
Please observe the supplementary sheet
for the STIHL charger and keep it in a safe
place.
Only use original STIHL chargers.
Do not use the charger if damaged.
Only use the charger to charge "AP" type
STIHL batteries of the appropriate
geometry with a maximum capacity of
10 Ah and a maximum voltage of 42 Volt.
Never charge defective or deformed
batteries.
The mains voltage and mains frequency
must correspond to the information on the
identification plate on the bottom of the
charger and the information contained in
the section "Technical specifications"
(Ö 20.).
Do not open the charger.
Disconnect the mains plug after use and
make sure that the charger is kept out of
the reach of children.
Protect the charger from
humidity and wetness.
Always store the charger in a
closed and dry place.
Store the charger at a
temperature of between +5°C and +40°C
only.
Do not cover the charger so as to ensure
that it can cool down normally.
Do not insert any objects in the ventilation
slots of the charger – Risk of electric
shock and short circuit!
Never connect (short-circuit) the charger
terminals with metallic objects (e.g. nails,
coins, jewellery) – Risk of short circuit!
Never operate the charger on easily
combustible surfaces (e.g. paper, textiles)
or in easily combustible environments –
Fire hazard!
Never operate the charger in explosion
hazardous environments, i.e. in
environments containing flammable
liquids (vapours), gases or dusts.
Chargers may generate sparks which can
ignite dust or vapours – Explosive and
fire hazard!
In the event of smoke formation or fire in
the charger, disconnect the mains plug
immediately.
Caution: Danger of electric
shock! The mains plug and
electric cable are particularly
important when it comes to
electrical safety. The charger must not be
used if the electric cable is damaged, in
order to prevent the risk of an electric
shock. Therefore, check the electric cable
regularly for signs of damage or ageing
(brittleness).
Only connect the charger to a properly
installed socket. The power supply must
be protected via a residual current-
operated protective device with a release
current of maximum 30mA.
Never perform repairs to the charger and
particularly not to the power cable or mains
plug. Have damaged electric cables
repaired by a qualified electrician.
When disconnecting the charger from the
mains power supply, always pull on the
mains plug and not on the electric cable.
Route and label the electric cable in such
a way that it cannot be damaged and does
not constitute a hazard – Prevent risk of
stumbling.
Do not use the electric cable otherwise
than for its intended purpose, e.g. for
carrying or suspending the charger.
