Troubleshooting
General Operation
Problem Resolution
Erratic operation The CN9000/CN9600/CN9950 needs to be started before
the KVM switch
1. If the CN9000/CN9600/CN9950 is connected to a
KVM switch, make sure to power it on before powering
on the switch.
2. If the KVM switch was started before the CN9000/
CN9600/CN9950, reset or restart the KVM switch.
The CN9000/CN9600/CN9950 needs to be reset (see
Upgrade Main Firmware, page 40, point 1).
I can’t access the CN9000/
CN9600/CN9950, even
though I have specified the
IP address and port number
correctly.
If the CN9000/CN9600/CN9950 is behind a router, the
router’s Port Forwarding (also referred to as Virtual
Server) feature must be configured. See Port Forwarding,
page 146, for details.
Mouse pointer confusion If you find the display of two mouse pointers (local and
remote) to be confusing or annoying, you can use the
Toggle Mouse Display function to shrink the non-
functioning pointer. See page 92 for details.
Mouse movement
unsynchronized
If you find the mouse pointer movement of a connected
PC/server using PS/2 control (CN9000) is not in sync with
your remote mouse operation, you can do the following:
1. On the connected PC/server, turn off “Enhance pointer
precision” in its mouse settings. If the problem persists,
go to Step 2.
2. On the web browser of the CN9000, execute terminal
command “setportatt 1 <n>” to set mouse delay time
by ‘n’ milliseconds. You can start with n = 10, and then
adjust as needed. See Terminal, page 44.
1. This problem may also occur on connected PC/
server using USB mouse control without
absolute coordinate support (CN9600/CN9950).
2. To reset the mouse delay time back to default,
execute terminal commandsetportatt 1 0
Mouse movement
extremely slow
There is too much data being transferred for your
connection to keep up with. Lower the video quality (see
Video Settings, page 99) so that less video data is
transmitted.
Changing Mouse Sync
Mode to Manual makes the
CN9000/CN9600/CN9950
crash.
The CN9000/CN9600/CN9950 has not crashed. You can
wait approximately 5 minutes for normal operations to
resume, or you can reset the CN9000/CN9600/CN9950 to
get it going right away (see Upgrade Main Firmware,
page 40, point 1).
