CONNECT AND START THE TOOL
For welders designed to operate at one of two dened voltage levels, set appropriate voltage with the selector
switch after unlocking protection element. Size of the plug at the end of the connector cable must be matched
with the power supply socket in accordance with regulations.
Welder is equipped with tripper and temperature relay that protect the welder against overheating. Actuation
of protection is signalled visually.
CONNECTION TO POWER SUPPLY NETWORK
Before connecting the tool to mains network ensure the supply voltage and current match the values shown
on the rating plate. Next attach plug to power cord and ensure the protective earth connection is correct (yel-
low-green wire). Power cord must be protected with fuses or circuit breakers, their operating range must be
appropriate for the tool operating power. Connect the welder and power supply, and ensure the monitoring
indicators are lit.
IMPORTANT: All electrical parts of the welder are coated with protective resin. During rst few minutes after
switching the tool on, a smell may appear that will vanish after some time.
Do not expose the welder to rain.
Ensure the cooling air intake and outlet are not obstructed.
Provide good connection between welded object and the welder clamp.
Use the dial to set current intensity adequate for material thickness and type of the weld. Scale is visible in the
window.
High intensity of welding current may interfere with operation of other electrical devices.
RECOMMENDED ELECTRODES
With arc welders, use ER150 electrodes manufactured in Huta Baildon steelworks (or foreign equivalents), de-
signed for welding with low voltage above 45V.
DO NOT USE ER146 electrodes in rutile coating (or foreign equivalents), as they produce welds of unsatisfac-
tory quality.
