3.1 Function
The pump primes the pumped fluid via the suction discharge (1). The pumped fluid is pumped upwards
via the stages consisting of impellers and diffusers. This is then pumped between the stages and the
outer pump casing to the outside of the pump and via the pressure discharge (2) into the pressure line.
The strainer basket, if applicable, filters out rough contaminations. The motor’s (3) drive shaft is fixed to
the pump shaft. The motor (3) is attached to the pump via the drive lantern (5).
