Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Martin Audio BlacklineX Series system. Now, with BlacklineX, Martin Audio’s R&D team has
engineeredaclassicsuiteofpassive loudspeakersforthemodernera.Deliveringthesignaturesoundofwarmth,nuanceand
claritybutwithimprovedoverallperformanceatapricepointnotpreviouslypossible,BlacklineXisaclean,smartdesignwith
noco
mpromisebetweentheneedsofinstallationandportability.A pplicationsrangefromportablesound reinforcementand
stagemonitoringforlivebands,DJ’sandcorporateevents,toinstallationsinnightclubs,bars,commercialspacesandHoW.
Comprising four two‐way systems — from the ultra‐compact X8 to the pow
erful X15 — and three subwoofers, including an
unobtrusivelow‐profilemodel,themulti‐purposeBlacklineXSeriesraisestheperformanceofloudspeakersystemsinitsclassto
a new level. Each symmetrical, multi‐angle full‐range enclosure features a user rotatable horn for horizontal or vertical
orientation, and has a screw‐free, cloth‐bac
ked steel grille. Comprehensive mounting options include wall bracket, eyebolt
suspension and pole‐mounting. Ergonomic handles at the rear of each full‐range enclosure make for easy handling while
maintainingcleanlinesforinstalledsystemswherehandlesonthecabinet'ssidearelikelytolookobtrusive.
AllBlacklineXSeriesenclosuresareconstructedfrombirch/
poplarplywoodandfinishedwithadurableblacktexturedpaint,with
whiteandcustomRALcolouroptionsavailable toorder.

BecausetheX8,X10,X12andX15arepassivesystemsembodyingcorrectacousticdesignprinciples,theycanbeusedwithouta
controllerprovidedtheirAESandpeakpowerratingsarenotexceededandcareistakentoavoidamplifierclipping. Formaximum
performance,however,werecommendthatBlacklineXSeriessystemsareusedwiththeMartinAud
ioDX0.5whichisahighly
versatile2input6output digitalloudspeaker processor,economically pricedto makeitan excellentmatch fortheBlacklineX
range.AProjectfilewithparametersfortherangecanbedownloadedfromtheMartinAudiowebsiteandca
nquicklyandeasily
beuploadedto aDX0.5usingtheDX0.5 software applicationwhich isalso availableas afreedownloaded fromthe Software
sectionontheMartinAudiowebsite.TheMartinaudioDX1.5orDX2systemcontrollerscanalsobeusedandaspreadsheetwith
parametersfortheBlacklineXran
geisalsoavailablefromtheLoudspeakersettingpageintheSupportsectionofthewebsite.
Unpacking
EachMartinAudioBlacklineXSeriesloudspeakerisbuilttothehigheststandardandthoroughlyinspectedbeforeitleavesthe
factory.Afterunpackingthesystem,examineitcarefullyforanysignsoftransitdamageandinformyourdealerordistributorif
anysuchdamageisfound.Itissuggestedthatyouretaintheori
ginalpackagingsothatthesystemcanberepackedatafuture
dateifnecessary.
