First Use of the Machine

• Please read these operating instructions carefully and keep them in a

safe place.

• Before using for the ﬁ rst time, boil fresh water at least twice in the appliance.

Use only water without any additives or ingredients.

Use

1. Place the machine on a ﬂ at surface.

2. Open the water boiler with the button on the lid. Fill it with water. Fill only up

to the maximum mark (MAX). You can check the level on both sides of the

appliance with the water level display.

3. Close the lid.

4. Place the kettle ﬂ ush on the base.

5. Electrical connection

• Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is the same as

that of the machine. Details are to be found on the label on the base.

• Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V, 50 Hz safety

socket.

6. Switch on the kettle by pressing the switch. The control lamp in the switch

lights up. The control lamp in the water tank lights up.

7. When the water is boiling the kettle switches itself off automatically unless

you press the switch to interrupt or stop the water from boiling. Disconnect the

kettle from the mains. When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed. Danger

of scalding!

Cleaning

• Always pull out the plug from the socket before cleaning!

• The exterior of the machine should be cleaned, if necessary, with a slightly

damp cloth without additives.

• For cleaning purposes the lime ﬁ lter can be removed by pulling upwards by the

tab. Remove the lime deposits by rinsing the ﬁ lter under running water.

Decalciﬁ cation

• The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the

water and on how often the appliance is used.

• If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be

decalciﬁ ed.

• Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalciﬁ cation agent

on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.
