Notes for cooking
The boiling point of the water varies in accordance with the atmospheric pressure and the altitude of the
location.
Athermostatwithtoohighsettingresultsincontinuousheatingandconsequentlystrongdevelopmentof
steam, loss of water in the appliance and furthermore wasting of energy.
To fi nd the correct setting for boiling on your appliance, simply take the following steps:
1. Turnthetemperatureselectorclockwisetotherighttothemark“Kochen”(cooking)
2. Wait for the water to boil
3. Slowlyturnthetemperatureselectorslightlytotheleftuntilthepilotlampextinguisheson
appliances without timer or until there is an audible switching of the regulator on appliances
with timer. After a short time the regulator will trigger the heating again.
A.) Models without timer
Warning – hazard of injury and burns! During operation, there are hot surface which
mightstillexistafterswitch-off.Pleasekeepthisinmindwhentouchingtheappliance!During
preparation and when lifting the lid, hot steam might escape.
1. Preserving
a. Place the grid insert.
b. Putinpreparedglassjarsorbottles.
c. Fill with water and put lid on.
d. Connect plug to electrical outlet.
e. Select the temperature.
f. Pilot lamp is on, the appliance is heating.
g. Pilot lamp goes out for the fi rst time means that the set temperature is reached, now, the
cooking time begins. The temperature is maintained automatically.
h. Once the cooking procedure is fi nished, reset the temperature selector to off-position and pull
the mains plug.
2. Juice making (juice-extractiontoptypeEA1803isavailableinspecialisedtrade)
a. Fill with at least 6 litres of water.
b. PlaceadapterringandJuiceExtractionTopontheapplianceaccordingtotheinstructions.
c. Placefruitpreparedforjuice-extractioninthefruitbasket.
d. Place lid.
e. Connect plug to the electrical outlet.
f. Settemperatureselectorto‚Entsaften‘(juice-makingmode).
g. Pilot lamp is on, the appliance is heating.
h. Attention:Addwaterpriortoeveryfurtherjuice-makingprocedure.
i. Once the cooking procedure is fi nished, reset the temperature selector to off-position and pull
the mains plug.
B.) Models with timer (fully-automatic preserving cookers)
