Using for the first time
Operation
Check before starting the device!
Check to make sure the unit is in a safe operating
condition:
Check to make sure there are no visible defects.
Check to make sure all unit components are cor-
rectly mounted.
Check to make sure the safety equipment is
functioning properly.

Unscrew and remove the cap on the tank (15).
Carefully pour in the fuel (do not spill it) up to the
upper edge of the filling funnel (A).
Screw the tank cap (15) onto the filling funnel (A)
and tighten by hand.
If any fuel is spilt: Always clean fuel up.
Set the cutting height

Set the cutting height as shown.
Observe the specifications on the cutting height
unit.

Unscrew and remove the motor oil filling
screw (17).
Fill the device with motor oil (do not spill).
Measure the oil level using the scale on the
motor oil filling screw (17).
Observe maximum filling level.

Press the "On" bar (5).
Bring the petrol handle (14) into the top position.
Slowly pull out the pull-starter (13) until the star-
ter engages, then pull forcefully.
If necessary, pull the pull-starter several times
until the engine starts.
When the motor is running, hang the pull-starter
on the handle or slowly return it to the motor
(starting position).
Set the petrol handle (14) to the desired speed.
Switching off the motor
Bring the gas handle (14) to the lower position.
Motor switches itself off.
Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING! Risk of injury! The device
may only be put into operation if there are
no defects or faults. If a part is defective,
it must be replaced before the machine is
used again.
CAREFUL! Machine damage! The unit is
delivered without fuel. Before starting to
use, fill with fuel. The unit is delivered wit-
hout motor oil. Before starting to use, fill
with motor oil.
WARNING! Risk of injury! Before con-
ducting any maintenance, make sure the
device is unplugged (disconnect the
power supply).
DANGER! Risk to life! The device may
catch fire as a result of spilt fuel.
Before starting, ensure that any spilt
fuel is carefully removed.
Start the device at least nine metres
from the point at which it was filled.
DANGER! Risk to life! Prior to conduc-
ting maintenance or cleaning:
Switch-off the device.
Close the fuel cock.
Switch off the ignition switch.
Allow for the device to cool down.
