ENGINE 3 2 ENGINE REMOVAL AND REINSTALLATION ENGINE REMOVAL Before taking the engine out of the frame wash with a steam cleaner The procedure of engine sequentially explained in the following steps and stallation is effected by reversing the removal Remove the oil drain plug to drain out engine oil Remove the rear and front seats Remove the frame cover assembly See page 7 2 the engine removal is engine in procedure Remove the fuel tank See page 7 3 Remove the center frame covers left and right Remove the lower cowling assembly See page 7 4 Disconnect the battery lead wire and battery Black White lead wire Remove the air cleaner cover by removing the screws Remove the air cleaner case mounting screws left and right Remove the left and right air duct hoses by removing the mounting screws and clamp Remove the carb diaphragm chamber air cleaner by removing the mounting bolt Except for California model
