IMPORTANT: fasten the grinding adjust-

ment disk correctly (refer to the chapter

AUTOMATIC RECOGNITION OF THE FIL-

TER HOLDER CUPS – RFID).

GRINDING MODE

Using the SETTINGS menu, you can now se-

lect from the various MODES OF USE for the

grinder-doser. For certain modes, where pro-

vided, the dose of coffee dispensed from the

coffee grinder-doser will be exactly the dose

set and calibrated (XG Technology).

STANDARD MODE

Press for the required dose using the but-

tons C1 or C2 (automatic operation for XGR

models). The selected button will begin to

ash. When the lter holder cup is pressed,

the start microswitch activates grinding.

Otherwise, pressing the button M, continu-

ous grinding is activated until the button is

released. The standard mode is factory-set.

To reselect it, access the SETTINGS menu,

select GRINDING MODE and then STAND-

ARD. In this way, the buttons will light up.

AUTOMATIC MODE

Access the SETTINGS menu, select GRIND-

ING MODE and then AUTOMATIC. For a sin-

gle dose, press the start microswitch once

with the lter holder cup. For a double dose,

press twice quickly (this last operation is not

necessary for XGR models). In this way, the

continuous grinding (button M) and the but-

tons C1 and C2 are deactivated.

PRE/SEL MODE

Access the SETTINGS menu, select GRIND-

ING MODE and then PRE/SEL. Press the

required dose using button C1 or C2 (au-

tomatic operation for XGR models). The

selected button will remain on and active.

Grinding starts when the start microswitch

is pressed by the ﬁlter holder cup. To switch

from one dose to another, press the appro-

priate button. In this way, continuous grind-

ing (button M) is deactivated.

DIRECT MODE

Access the SETTINGS menu, select GRIND-

ING MODE and then DIRECT. Press the re-

quired dose by using the button C1 or C2

(automatic operation for XGR models). Oth-

erwise, pressing the button M, continuous

grinding is activated until the button is re-

leased. In this way, the start microswitch is

deactivated and the buttons light up.

During the grinding process, the time is dis-

played in seconds and tenths of a second.

• The button for the selected dose ashes

during dispensing.

•

After dispensing, the counters are updated.

• For counting purposes, continuous grind-

ing corresponds to a single dose.

SAFETY DEVICES

THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION

The grinder-doser motor is protected against

overheating resulting from overcurrents

by a thermal overload protection which,

when tripped, cuts off the power supply to

the motor. If the thermal protection device

should automatically turn on in the event

of anomalous operation (such as the grind-

ing blades jamming), turn off grinder-doser

using the On-Off switch, unplug it from the

mains, and contact skilled technical person-

nel. Never perform any work on the grind-

er-doser while it is attached to the mains,

in order to prevent the motor from turning

on suddenly. If the grinder-doser overheats

as a result of the motor stopping, allow the

grinder-doser to cool down before perform-

ing any repair work.

ADJUSTMENT DISK LOCK

In order to prevent the adjustment disk

from being removed, which would make the

rotating parts accessible, there is an anti-

unscrewing adjustment disk lock (safe) po-

sitioned under the adjustment disk.
