The default printer settings are listed below.
It may be useful to first print a report of the
printer settings as described in Printing a
Printer Report on page 59.
SSID (network name): PJ-673_XXXX (where
“XXXX” is the last four digits
of the printer’s
serial number)
Encryption method: WEP
WEP key: Last five digits
of the printer’s
serial number
IP address: 169.254.100.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0
NOTE
The serial number appears as “SER. NO.
XXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX” on the back of
the printer.
Setting Up the Printer
(With the Default Settings)

If the printer will be used with its default
settings, printer setup is unnecessary;
however, the settings on the Windows
®
Computer must be specified manually.
Specify the settings according to the
procedures in this manual.
a If you have the included CD-ROM, insert
it into your computer’s CD-ROM drive,
and then click [Standard Installation]
in the installer screen that appeared.
If the Web version was downloaded,
double-click the downloaded file.
Click [Next].
b Select [Wireless Network
Connection], and then click [Next].
c With the USB cable, connect the printer
to the computer running Windows
®
, and
then turn on the printer. If the printer is in
wireless LAN mode (the WIRELESS
LAN indicator is blinking), switch it to
USB mode. For details, see Switching
Between Wireless LAN Mode and USB
Mode on page 30.
The next screen will automatically
appear.
