4. Verify that governor has been set correctly. With linkage still retained in FULL THROTTLE position (Step 2),

unsnap bushing clip, separate linkage from bushing, and remove bushing from lever. Follow Steps 3 and 4 in

Checking Initial Adjustment.

5. Reconnect dampening spring into its governor lever hole from bottom. Reinstall bushing and reattach throttle

linkage. Reattach governor spring in marked hole.

6. Start engine and allow it to fully warm up and establish closed loop operation (approximately 5-10 min.). Check

When Cold.

Fuel pump not running.

Faulty spark plugs.

Old/stale fuel.

Incorrect fuel pressure.

Speed sensor loose or faulty.

Engine temperature sensor faulty.

Engine temp sensor faulty.

Faulty coils.

Low system voltage.

Fuel pressure low.

Insuffi cient fuel delivery.

TPS off set incorrect (Initialization).

Speed sensor loose or faulty.

TPS faulty.

Engine temperature sensor faulty.

Faulty injectors.

Engine stalls or

idles roughly (cold

hesitates, or stalls

Fuel injector(s), fuel fi lter, fuel line, or fuel pick-up dirty/restricted.

Dirty air cleaner.

Insuffi cient fuel pressure or fuel delivery.

Vacuum (intake air) leak.

Improper governor setting, adjustment or operation.

Speed sensor malfunction.

TPS faulty, mounting problem or TPS Initialization Procedure incorrect.
