To define the thermostat settings, proceed as follows:
1 Enter the user settings menu and press the
x
key twice to
go to the THERMOSTAT SETTINGS screen.
If the controller is already in the user settings menu, position the
cursor in the upper left corner of the actual screen using the
e
or
j
key and go to the THERMOSTAT SETTINGS screen using the
h
key.
2 Position the cursor behind the parameter to be modified using
the
j
key.
3 Select the appropriate setting using the
h
key.
4 Press
j
to confirm or
e
to cancel the modification.
When the modification has been confirmed, the cursor switches to
the next parameter which can now be modified. When the
modification has been cancelled, the cursor returns to the upper
left corner of the screen.
5 Repeat from instruction 2 onwards to modify the other
parameters.
Note A functional diagram showing the thermostat parameters
can be found in annex I.
Defining the BMS settings
(only if the optional BMS-card is installed and the
BMSCARDINSTALLED - parameter is set to Y)
The BMS parameters allowing communication between the unit and
the supervisory system can be modified via the BMS SETTINGS screen
and BMSBOARD SETTINGS screen of the user settings menu. The BMS
parameters are:
BMS SETTINGS screen:
■ BMS CONTROL ALLOWED : if set to Y (yes), the unit can be
commanded and configured from a supervisory system. If set
to N(no), the supervisory system can only read out values but
cannot modify them.
■ ADDR.PCB : used to address the PCB.
■ PROTOCOL : indicates the communication protocol. If the Daikin
optional gateway is used to connect the units to a supervisory
system, the protocol is CAREL.
BMSBOARD SETTINGS screen:
■ SERIAL BOARD : indicates the type of serial connection. The
default is set to RS485.
■ BAUD RATE : indicates the speed of communication. The default
setting of 19200 bps must be used when the Daikin optional
gateway is connected.
To define the BMS or BMS-board settings, proceed as follows:
1 Enter the user settings menu and press the
x
key three
times to go to the BMS SETTINGS screen or four times to go to the
BMSBOARDSETTINGS screen.
If the controller is already in the user settings menu, position the
cursor in the upper left corner of the actual screen using the
e
or
j
key and go to the BMS SETTINGS or BMSBOARDSETTINGS screen
using the
h
key.
2 Position the cursor behind the parameter to be modified using
the
j
key.
3 Select the appropriate setting using the
h
key.
4 Press
j
to confirm or
e
to cancel the selection.
When the selection has been confirmed, the cursor switches to the
next parameter which can now be modified. When the selection
has been cancelled, the cursor returns to the upper left corner of
the screen.
5 Repeat from instruction 2 to modify the other parameters.
Activating or de-activating the setpoints password
The SETPOINT PASSWORD screen of the user settings menu allows the
user to activate or de-activate the user password needed to change
the temperature setpoint. When de-activated, the user does not
have to enter the password each time he wants to change the
setpoint.
To activate or de-activate the setpoints password, proceed as
follows:
1 Enter the user settings menu and press the x key four times
to go to the SETPOINT PASSWORD screen.
If the controller is already in the user settings menu, position the
cursor in the upper left corner of the actual screen using the
e
or
j
key and go to the SETPOINT PASSWORD screen using the
h
key.
The question PASSWORD NEEDED TO CHANGE SETPOINT appears.
2 Press
j
to start the modification.
The cursor blinks behind the question.
3 Select Y or N using the
h
key.
4 Press
j
to confirm or press
e
to cancel the selection.
In both cases the cursor returns to the upper left corner of the
screen.
Calibrating the inlet water temperature sensor
In order to measure the inlet water temperature accurately, it is
possible to add an offset value to the measured temperature.
The default, limit and step values are:
Lower Upper
limit limit Step Default
-2.0°C +2.0°C 0.1°C 0.0°C
To change the offset value, proceed as follows:
1 Enter the user settings menu.
If the controller is already in the user settings menu, position the
cursor in the upper left corner of the actual screen using the
e
or
j
key and go to the SENSOR ACCURACY screen using the
h
key.
2 Position the cursor behind the offset value using the
j
key.
3 Select the appropriate setting using the
h
key.
4 Press
j
to confirm or
e
to cancel the modification.
When the modification has been confirmed or has been cancelled,
the cursor returns to the upper left corner of the screen.
Tasks of the timers menu
Checking the actual value of the software timers
As a protective measure and to ensure correct operation, the
controller's software features several countdown timers:
■ LOADUP (LOADUP – refer to the thermostat parameters): starts
counting when a thermostat step change has occurred. During
the countdown, the unit is not able to enter a higher thermostat
step.
