COOLING SYSTEM 3 9 Oil Seal Installation Water Pump Shaft Installation CAUTION o f the oil seal or ball bearing is removed replace all of them with new ones at the same time Apply plenty of high temperature grease to the oil seal lips Press the oil seal into the hole from the outside of the right engine cover with a bearing driver set special tool so that the marked side faces toward the inside of the cover CAUTION 1 Oil Seal 3 Marked Side 2 Water Pump Shaft 4 Right Engine Cover o Jse a bearing driver larger in diameter than the oil seal and press the oil seal into the hole until the edge of the oil seal is flush with the step for the bail bearing Oil Seal Installation cAufioN oBe sure to apply a molybednum disulfide grease to the water pump shaft when installing If it is in stalled dry the seals may wear excessively Oil Seal Removal Remove the following parts Impeller Right Engine Cover see Right Engine Cover in the Engine Right Side chapter Water Pump Shaft Insert a bar into the water pump shaft hole from the outside of the right engine cover and remove the ball bearing by tapping evenly around the bear ing inner race Insert a bar into the water pump shaft hole from the inside of the right engine cover and remove the oil seal by tapping evenly around the seal lips 1 Oil Seal 2 Apply High Temperature Crease 3 Bearing Driver Set 57001 1129 4 Step Press the ball bearing into the hole with a bearing driver set special tool 57001 1129 until the bear ing is bottomed against the step
