high-denitiontelevisions.Thisconnectorenablesaplug-and-playsetupandsupportsadaptersthatcan
plugintoDVI,VGA,orHDMIconnectors.
TheMiniDisplayPortconnectorofyourcomputersupportsaudioaswellasvideostreaming.
Note:UseDisplayPortcertiedcablewithDisplayPorticon()toconnectthedeviceforstablefunctionality.
UsingtheThunderboltconnector
Dependingonthemodel,yourcomputermighthaveaThunderboltconnector.Itenablesyoutoconnect
yourcomputertoaThunderboltcompatibledeviceoraMiniDisplayPortcompatibledevice,suchasCRT
monitors,LCDmonitors,projectors,orhigh-denitiontelevisions.TheThunderboltconnectorhasthe
sameappearanceastheMiniDisplayPortconnectorotherthantheicon.IfyouconnectaMiniDisplayPort
compatibledevicetotheThunderboltconnector,itgeneratesMiniDisplayPortsignalsautomatically.
Settingupapresentation
Todisplayinformationandmakepresentations,youcanattachadataprojectortoyourcomputerthrough
theVGAconnectoronyourcomputer.
Note:Itmaytakeseveralsecondsbeforetheprojectordisplaystheimage.Ifyoudonotseeyourdesktop
displayedafter60seconds,trypressingFn+F7toswitchbetweendifferentdisplayoutputlocations.
Yourprojectormighthaveoneormoreaudio-inputconnectors.Toprojectsound,youwillneedtoattachthe
comboaudiojackonyourcomputertotheseconnectors,usinganaudiocable(commerciallyavailable).
UsingtheExtenddesktopfunction
Yourcomputersupportsafunctionnamedtheextenddesktop.WiththeExtenddesktopfunction,you
candisplayoutputonboththecomputerdisplayandanexternalmonitor.Youalsocandisplaydifferent
desktopimagesoneachmonitor.
ConsiderationsforusingtheExtenddesktopfunction
•WhenanapplicationusingDirectDraworDirect3Displayedinfull-screenmode,itisshownonlyonthe
primarydisplay.
•IfyouwanttoshowDOSfull-screenwhileintheextenddesktopmode,onlytheprimarydisplayshows
DOS,theotherdisplayisblackedout.
•IfyourcomputerhastheIntelgraphicscard,youcandesignatetheotherdisplayastheprimarydisplay
bydoingthefollowing:
1.PressCtrl+Alt+F12.TheIntelGraphicsandMediaControlPanelwindowopens.
2.SelectAdvancedModeandclickOK.
3.ClickMultipleDisplay.
4.Selectthedesireddisplayastheprimarydisplay.
EnablingtheExtenddesktopfunction
ToenabletheExtenddesktopfunction,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector;thenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
