BRAKE PAD INSPECTION BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ADJUSTMENT JNSP FJ ADJ CAUTION Brake fluid may erode painted surface plastic parts Always clean up spilled immediately Use only the designated quality brake f otherwise the rubber seals may de orate causing leakage and poor brake formance Refill with the same type of brake f mixing fluids may result in a harmful ch ical reaction and lead to poor performanc Be careful that water does not enter master cylinder when refilling Water significantly lower the boiling point of fluid and may result in vapor lock BRAKE PAD INSPECTION 1 Activate the brake lever or brake pedal 2 Inspect Brake pad Wear indicator J almost contacts brake disc Replace brake pad as a set Front brake E Rear brake Refer to the BRAKE PAD REPLACEMEN section in the CHAPTER 7 for replacement BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ADJUSTMENT NOTE _________________________________ The brake light switch is operated by movem of the brake pedal Proper adjustment is achieved when the bra light comes on just before the brake begins to ta effect
