Switching off the mower mechanism
WARNING!
Danger due to spinning blades!
When the cutting blades are spinning,
they can cause laceration injuries to
hands and feet, even if the engine has
been switched off! As a result, keep your
hands and feet away from the cutters!
Switch off the mower mechanism using the toggle
switch (position "0", 1e).
The mower mechanism can be switched off when
the tractor is at a standstill and when it is being
driven.
Always switch off the mower mechanism if you are
driving over surfaces other than lawns.
Driving with distance sensors
Type 20 and 23 lawn tractors are equipped with
two distance sensors on the left and right sides.
If anyone approaches the lawnmower from the
side, or if it is driven along the side of an object
and the object is detected by the distance sensors
then symbol (2g) appears on the display and the
mower mechanism switches off after about 2 se-
conds. In this case, the tractor will have to be re-
started. See Starting the engine.
Mowing in the vicinity of objects
If the distance sensors detect an object, a
warning is sounded and symbol (2g) appears
on the display. Press the pushbutton (1g) wi-
thin about 2 seconds if you do not want the
mower mechanism to switch off.
Press the pushbutton (1g) within about 5 se-
conds of reaching the object if you do not
want the mower mechanism to switch off.
Switching distance sensors off/on
Turn the ignition to position II (1d).
The display shows the operating hours
(2b) of the lawn tractor.
Press key F (2e) until the display no longer
appears.
Now press and hold the F key (2e) and R key
(2n) at the same time until "OFF" or "ON" ap-
pears on the display.
ADVICE
There is no safety cut-off when the dis-
tance sensors are switched off, even if
people or objects are located in the area
to the side.
Emptying the grass catcher
ADVICE
Risk of injury!
An audible signal sounds when the grass
catcher is full. The catcher should be
emptied now if not before.
Depending on the equipment variant, your lawn
tractor has electrically operated grass catcher em-
ptying or a manually operated grass catcher with
operating lever.
The following applies to all catcher types:
The grass catcher can be emptied from the
operator's seat.
The engine cuts out if the grass catcher is lif-
ted up or disconnected when the mower me-
chanism is switched on.
The mower mechanism cannot be switched
on unless the grass catcher is engaged cor-
rectly.
Emptying the electrically operated grass
catcher
1. For emptying, operate the toggle switch (6a)
on the left of the operator's seat.
2. To close the grass catcher, operate the toggle
switch again.
Emptying the grass catcher with operating
lever
1. Pull the operating lever out of the grass cat-
cher (16).
2. Push the lever in the driving direction so the
grass catcher opens.
3. Move the grass catcher backwards with the
lever until the catcher engages.
CLEANING THE LAWN TRACTOR
The lawn tractor must be cleaned regularly to en-
sure optimum function and a long service life.
Clean the lawn tractor and grass catcher after
each use to remove adhering contamination.
