14 Service Manual
(13) Freeze Protection Function
When the indoor heat exchanger temperature falls below "A"° C in cooling or program dry operation,
●
the compressor and the outdoor fan are forced to turn OFF, and
●
the indoor fan rotates at the L tap (in cooling operation) or W2 tap (in program dry operation)
Note that this function is not activated for 6 minutes after compressor turns ON
When the indoor heat exchanger reaches "B"° C, the compressor and the outdoor fan restart the operations. However, because
the compressor recycling guard timer (3-minute timer) takes priority, the compressor and the outdoor fan don't restart the operation
during this timer is ON.
(14) Overload Control
This function protects the product from excessive load during operation
1. During cooling operation
(1) When outdoor heat exchanger temperature DE is 65° C (63° C for Comp. NH41VMDT) or higher →DStops the compressor.
(2) When outdoor heat exchanger temperature DE is 53° C (51° C for Comp. NH41VMDT) or lower →DRestarts the compressor.
2. During heating operation

(1) When indoor heat exchanger temperature DC is
DP3 or higher.
→ Changes to M tap when the indoor unit fan
speed is at ML tap or lower.
(2) When 10 seconds or more elapse after the
activation of above operation (1) and indoor heat
exchanger temperature DC is DP2 or higher.
→ Stops the outdoor unit fan.
(3) When 10 seconds or more elapse after the
activation of above operation (2) and indoor heat
exchanger temperature DC is DP1 or higher.
→ Stops the compressor
(4) When 9 minutes or more elapse after the
completion of operations (1) to (3) and indoor heat
exchanger temperature DC is DP4 or lower.
→ Cancels operations (1) to (3), and starts the unit.
