- Alpha link mx 4 16 provides 4 analogue inputs and 16 analogue outputs 8
- I o capabilities 8
- Multiple alpha link mx units in any mix may be connected to a single madi stream to increase the total analogue channel count on the one madi stream note that at all sample rates alpha link mx provides the full complement of analogue i o and dependant on the madi mode used 56 or 64 channel this will impact on the total number of channels available when running multiple units on one madi connection at sample rates higher than fs 2fs and 4fs the table below illustrates the maximal i o count against sample rate for a single model of alpha link mx 8
- Mx 16 4 mx 4 16 inputs outputs 8
- Qty max i o fs 64ch fs 56ch 2fs 32ch 2fs 28ch 4fs 16ch 4fs 14ch 8
- The alpha link mx can operate at the following sample rates 44 khz 48khz 88 khz 96khz 176 khz and 192khz and if locked to an external clock source it can also operate at a deviation of up to 10 from these rates through this guide we may refer to the lowest set of sample rates 44 khz 48khz collectively as fs medium rates 88 khz 96khz being twice the lowest set as 2fs and the highest sample rates 176 khz 192khz as 4fs 8
- The number of channels of analogue to digital and digital to analogue conversion provided by your alpha link mx unit depends on the model 8

- Analogue level selects between 0db fs 24dbu 18dbu or user defined levels between 14dbu and 22dbu 12
- Clock source selects the required clock source valid sources are madi external wordclock or internal 12
- Front panel 12
- Madi mode sets indicates the number of madi channels and frame pattern to match the connected system 12

- Mx 16 can work at either of the standard operating levels 18dbu or 24dbu 0db fs alternatively one of a number of user selectable levels between 14dbu and 22dbu may be chosen 17
- Press and hold the level button to configure the user levels use the level button to select the required attenuation 17
- Press the level button to select the correct level 17

- To maximise use of the madi stream multiple mx 16 units may be cascaded together up to a maximum of four units in any mix when units are cascaded in this fashion each unit s i o will appear consecutively in a block of 16 i o irrespective of the capability of the unit where the sample rate is incompatible with the unit id mx 16 will pass through the madi stream un changed see below in addition the sample delay inherent in re transmitting existing madi data is fully compensated for such that all inputs and outputs will remain coherent 19
