Subsection 04 (LUBRICATION SYSTEM)
GENERAL
Prior to changing the oil, ensure vehicle is on a
level surface.
Oil and oil filter must be replaced at the same
time. Oil change and oil filter replacement should
be done with a warm engine.
WARNING
The engine oil can be very hot. Wait until en-
gine oil is warm.
At installation, use torque values and service
products from the exploded view. Clean threads
before using Loctite products when installing
screws.
Dispose oil and filter as per your local environmen-
tal regulations.
OIL LEVEL CHECK
Snowmobile must be on a level surface.
Warmuptheengineto80°C(176°F).
Leave engine running at idle for at least 30 sec-
onds.
Stop engine and wipe the dipstick.
Dipstick must be completely screwed in before
checking oil level.
Oil level must be between minimum and maxi-
mum marks on dipstick.
There is a capacity of 500 mL (17 U.S. oz) between
the two marks.

Add XP-S 0W40 synthetic 4-stroke oil (12 x 1L)
(P/N 293 600 054)through dipstick hole as re-
quired.
Reinstall dipstick.
ENGINE OIL PRESSURE TEST
NOTE: The engine oil pressure test should be
done with a warm engine 80°C(176°F) and the
recommended oil.
Remove the oil pressure switch no. 46 in the
area of the cylinder head (intake side), mounted
on the ignition cover and install the oil pressure
gauge (P/N 529 035 709) and oil pressure adapter
(P/N 529 035 652). Use fuel line remover (P/N 529
035 714) to unplug oil pressure adapter from oil
pressure gauge.
