Double Tagging (DT)
This chapter shows you how to configure VLAN double tagging on the IP DSLAM.
35.1 Double Tagging Overview
With Double Tagging (DT) enabled, the IP DSLAM can add two tags (C-tag and S-tag) of the
VLAN ID and priority level for untagged packets received from a private network to those
used in the service provider’s network.
When you enable DT on a port, the port is called a DT access port. The IP DSLAM adds
VLAN tags for untagged traffic but drops tagged traffic flowing through the DT access ports.
" Double-tagged or single-tagged packets received on the DT access ports are
dropped.
35.2 Configuring DT
Click Advanced Application > DT to open this screen.
Use this screen to view the existing DT entries. It’s recommended that you add a new entry in
this screen only when you want to translate untagged packets into double-tagged ones before
forwarding them.
