Ɣ Press the front part of the switch for continuous operation.
Ɣ The switch will be automatically locked in the position for continuous operation.
Ɣ Press the rear part of the switch (2) to switch the tool off.
Once the grinder is switched on, wait until it reaches maximum speed and only then you can begin
to work. During operation do not use the switch to switch the grinder on and o. The switch can be
used only when the grinder is moved away from the workpiece.
SPEED ADJUSTMENT
The speed adjustment dial (7) (g. B) is located in the upper rear part of the grinder casing. The adjustment
range is from 1 to 6. The rotational speed can be changed depending on your needs.
It is a matter of experience to properly adjust the rotational speed. A higher rotational speed is typically
used for harder materials. It is recommended to reduce the rotational speed for working tools of larger
diameters.
The rotational speed can be adjusted only when the grinder is moved away from the workpiece to
prevent loss of control over the tool.
GRINDING
Ɣ Only working tools dedicated for operation with the straight grinder can be used for grinding
works, e.g. grinding stone on a shank. Only such working tools can be used, whose permissible
rotational speed is higher than or equal to the maximum no load speed of the grinder.
Ɣ Each working tool and workpiece type requires proper technique and application of suitable
personal protective measures.
Ɣ The workpiece should be rmly secured (e.g. in a vice, using hand screws) so that it does not
move during grinding.
Ɣ Once your work is completed, you should switch o the grinder and wait until it comes to a
complete stop. Only then the grinder can be put aside. Once the grinder is switched o, the
working tool cannot be stopped by pressing it to the workpiece.
Ɣ Working tools reach high temperatures during operation. It cannot be touched with uncovered
body parts, before they cool down.
Optimum grinding results are ensured, when the tool is run back and forth over the workpiece with a slight
pressure. Point grinding - especially with excessive pressure - may result in overheating of the workpiece
and working tool.
Ɣ Do not overload the grinder. Overloading and excessive pressure may lead to dangerous
cracking of the working tool.
Ɣ If the grinder is dropped during operation, it should be checked and a working tool might need
to be replaced, when it is damaged or deformed.
Ɣ Never strike the workpiece with a working tool.
Ɣ Do not use the workpiece for hammering or stripping o of the workpiece, especially when
corners are worked, etc. (this may cause loss of control of the power tool and recoil).
Ɣ When grinding with the straight grinder, do not use grinding discs designed for cutting (e.g.
discs for angle grinder, saw-blade discs for wood, etc.). Failure to observe this recommendation
may result in recoil of the power tool, loss of control and lead to injuries of the operator.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Before any operations related to installation, adjustment, repairs or maintenance are commenced, the plug
of the power cord should be disconnected from the receptacle.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Ɣ It is recommended to clean the tool after each use.
Ɣ Do not use water or other fluids for cleaning.
Ɣ The tool should be cleaned with a dry piece of cloth or blown with compressed air of low pressure.
Ɣ Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents, since they may damage plastic parts.
Ɣ Venting slots in the motor casing should be cleaned on a regular basis not to overload the tool.
