PERSONALSAFETY
It is recommended that the rst time user should have
practical instruction in the use of the chainsaw and the
protective equipment from an experienced operator and
that the initial practice should be cutting logs on a saw
horse or cradle

This tool is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the tool by a person responsible for
their safety
Ensure that children do not play with the tool
ElECTRICAl SAFETY
Always check that the supply voltage is the same as the
voltage indicated on the nameplate of the tool
Connect the tool via a fault current (FI) circuit breaker
with a triggering current of 30 mA maximum
Use completely unrolled and safe extension cords with a
capacity of 16 Amps (U.K. 13 Amps)
Only use an extension cord which is intended for outdoor
use and equipped with a watertight plug and coupling-
socket
Only use extension cords with a maximum length of 20
metres (1,5 mm²) or 50 metres (2,5 mm²)
Always switch o tool and disconnect plug from power
source if the power supply cord or the extension cord is
cut, damaged or entangled (donottouchthecord
beforedisconnectingtheplug)
Protect the (extension) cord from heat, oil and sharp
edges
Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
tool
Inspect the cord periodically and have it replaced by a
qualied person, if damaged
Inspect the extension cord periodically and replace it, if
damaged (inadequateextensioncordscanbe
dangerous)
Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on and
o; always have a damaged switch repaired by a qualied
person

7 Double insulation (no earth wire required)
8 Do not dispose of the tool together with household waste
material
WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U.K. ONLY):
Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire
in the cord of this tool to the earth terminal of the plug
If for any reason the old plug is cut o the cord of this tool,
it must be disposed of safely and not left unattended

- t the chain onto drive sprocket F and guide chain bar
D, so that fastening bolt G and the two guide ns H t
into the keyway of chain bar D, and that chain
tensioning peg J ts into the respective hole of chain
bar D
- if necessary, turn tensioning knob K to bring tensioning
peg J in alignment with the hole in chain bar D
- check if all parts are seated properly and hold chain
and chain bar in a level position
- turn tensioning knob K until all the slack is taken up in
the chain
- mount cover plate A as illustrated
- tighten locking knob B on fastening bolt G by turning it
clockwise
Tensioning chain 0
- place the chain saw on any suitable at surface
- check if the chain links are correctly located in the slot
around chain bar D
1) loosen locking knob B until it is just holding chain bar
in position (donotremove)
2) lift the chain bar somewhat and hold it in that position
3) turn chain tensioning knob K upwards until the lowest
chain links come up and JUST touch the bottom of
chain bar D
4) tighten locking knob B by turning it clockwise
5) release chain bar
6) the correct chain tension is reached when the chain
can be raised approx. 4 mm from the chain bar in the
centre
