Installing the heat sink assembly

1. Replace the heat-sink assembly in its slot.

2. Affix the tape on the heat pipe.

3. Tighten the captive screws to secure the heat-sink assembly to the computer.

NOTE: Tighten the screws based on the order mentioned in the removal procedure.

4. Connect the heat-sink fan cables to the system board.

5. Install the:

a. palmrest

b. keyboard

c. hard drive

d. base cover

e. battery

f. battery cover

6. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.

Removing the video card

1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.

2. Remove the:

a. battery cover

b. battery

c. base cover

d. hard drive

e. keyboard

f. palmrest

g. heat sink

3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:

a. Remove the screws that secure the video card to the computer [1].

b. Remove the video card from the computer [2].
